Exporee!
On May 4th, 5th, and 6th we will be camping on the fields that were once the home of Freedom Weekend Aloft. This is the site of the Council Exporee held every three years. There will be many activities for the boys and great opportunities to build Scouting friendships and enthusiasm. If you can't spend the weekend, spend the day on Saturday. See you there!

Skiing
It was the coldest day of the year and it snowed all day. That makes for a great ski weekend and reminds us to be careful what you wish for. On Saturday we skied all day and half the night in sub-freezing conditions (except for the adults). Of course the accommodations were great thanks to the Catholic Campus Ministry at App State. I good time was had by all.

Shooting
The December shooting outing will be January 7th. This is not a Scout uniform outing; it is a day at the range to experience a variety of rifles. Any dads or moms that want to come along are welcome. Bring your rifle to show or to shoot.

January - Skiing
On January 27th we will head to Boone, NC and Sugar Mountain. We will stay at the Catholic Campus Ministry Friday and Saturday nights. This is always a fun trip and all family members are welcome.

August 2011 - Troop Report

Summer Camp
We spent a great week at Camp Old Indian. The weather was great; the staff was very well prepared and enthusiastic. The 12 boys who attended camp completed 31 merit badges. We shared our camp site with Troop 15 again this year. It was crowded but very manageable. Maybe we will see them again next year. Thanks to all the adults that helped out with the leadership but a special thank you to Steve Morrison who spent the whole week at Camp.

May - Backpacking
On May 15th and 16th we are going backpacking in the Pisgah National Forest.

Spring Camporee
In April we went to the National Guard Station in Fountain Inn. There were a lot of activities including fishing, physical fitness, compass and map reading, orienteering and first aid. There was a great campfire program with very creative skits and Troop 707 won third in the knot relay. By the way the grilled chicken, beans and potatoes were really good for dinner.
